No way to open 2011's first blog post like a quote from a failed Zack Snyder picture.
Here we find our stellar young hero, AJ, locked in a vicious struggle between his job (an archivist specialist at a motion picture advertisement agency) and his career (writing and directing films). His work pays his rent, but his films propel his reputation and fulfill his mission objectives. The highest of objectives, though -- leaving his job and existing fully on taking missions -- may yet still be unobtainable.
What an impatient pickle to be in!
As of late, Eisenstein's been a killer. Yeah, let's talk about Eisenstein -- that rotten little stump of styrofoam has given me the ultimate displeasure in filmmaking. If it's not one thing, it's another. His arm's off. His hat's down. His hands are caught. His wire's stuck. His bottom's showing. There's no winning with this guy, and it kills the morale of a shoot to retake the same material fifteen times simply to get something usable.
Shooting with actors will never seem easier after this...
Sega's been back in touch lately about... things... That-which-I'm-not-at-liberty-to-discuss is underway and I'll likely need to make some sacrifices to get things together in a timely and efficient manner. Planning is difficult due to the nature of working long distance. But I'm very excited to be back on the radar with them and looking forward to what may be a monumental boost to our popularity in the geek and gaming circles. This is very much an On The Map project, and if our cards are played our proper, we could hugely benefit from this association yet again.
I'm thinking of starting a Spitefully Yours production blog. Weird, since the talk is that we're switching out of production after this episode to focus more on Sega stuff. But I think writing out some of our development discussions and production experiences could be therapeutic, and maybe the extra glimpse into the show will draw a few more interested viewers on to the website (a far better version of which is still being coded).
